man and man living in harmony
Finally watched Casshern yesterday. It was TPJCG's interclub screening where we invited groups/clubs from different schools with the same interest. One of our alumni members bought the imported DVD. The movie should be showing soon in the cinema...or maybe it is showing now? Cathay cinemas...which is pretty much Cineleisure since the other cineplex is in the west.I enjoyed the movie although a few minor parts still remain a mystery to me. The ending was the best. Almost cried. How it portrayed what is happening in this world today. The meaning of it all. What are we living for? Human and human should live together in harmony. Yet, the distrust in each other, the way we are prejudiced forces us to have hatred for each other. Forgiveness and tolerance is needed. The line from Savage Garden's "Affirmation", 'I believe forgiveness is the key to your unhappiness'. Kindness begets kindness. Hatred brings more hatred.
The movie had some futuristic elements and some elements from the olden times. It is a rather "deep" movie. Unless you understand the meaning in the movie, as long as you are not watching it just for pure entertainment's sake, you should watch it. So, be forewarned.
I heard of this movie when I was in Japan earlier this year. I think it was showing there then. All I knew was that some characters were mutants and the theme song was sung by Utada Hikaru. Ok...just a small spoiler. The characters are not mutants. They are just humans who are reborned from body parts. And if you think the lead character has nice blue eyes (as seen on the official wallpapers), sorry to disappoint you but you can't even see clearly in the movie. Doesn't look blue to me. No more spoilers...go watch the movie.
Yea...my favourite character is the lead character, Tetsuya.

Mr Blue Eyes

I think his armour is cool. Especially the piece covering his mouth. It is retractable and slides out only when he fights. Oh, he has a cool sword too.
incomparable to Jay
Friday, Sis and I went to Jay Chou's concert. Not that I wanted to but Sis pulled me along since she had no one to accompany her. But I did enjoy the concert. Here's a little tidbit for you.

2 encores. Never expected the second one. But Sis said she expected it since he sang "七里香" at the second encore. It is the current popular song from his current album so it would be surprising if he didn't sing it at the concert. Special guests were 南拳妈妈 and 温岚. Hmmm...I thought the pink Yamaha grand piano didn't suit Jay. Pink of all colours. Why couldn't it be classic white or black?
malaysia trip
The main objective of the trip was to visit my grandparents. We invited them to stay with us in our service apartment. Since my grandmother can't really walk a lot for a long period of time, there was not much shopping done.
The only thing I miss is the tv. The tv was equipped with cable so I could watch Viva S Club, Lizzie McGuire, CSI, and the various documentries. Mum refuses to get cable tv for our home since she said we would probably spend all our time glued to the tv and neglect our studies. Which I guess is partly true.
shop till you drop
Since I didn't buy much clothes in Malaysia, Mum and I went shopping on Friday. Bought 2 pairs of jeans, 1 pair of cropped pants from Giordano and 1 skirt and a pair of shorts from OP. Yes...all bottoms. There is a serious lack of nice tops and shoes. Or maybe I'm just too picky.

back home
Back from my trip to Malaysia. Shall update more later. Some things to be done now.November 19, 2004 @ 7.29pm
hair cut
Haha...been waiting for this moment. I couldn't take a photo of myself the day I cut my hair *Wednesday* since after rebonding, my hair is well...rather FLAT. Kinda kuku...so since my hair had its first wash this morning, after rebonding...
I had to take a photo of myself before I cut my hair. It's a little sad to see my long hair go...one year and one trim to get this length.
And then...

If you can see the length that is...since I'm wearing a black tee. I somehow always never get the length I want...I wanted it slightly shorter than that. But Aunty Hazel did cut the front part lots shorter as I wanted it. And at least it isn't so dry.
Tagboard's down...bleargh. Wonder when it will be fine again.
Going to Malaysia tomorrow. Yearly relative visits. Oh...and not to mention shopping. Will be back on Thursday evening.

blacked out
Just came out from my bath, had another almost blackout situation. It happened once before. I'll just suddenly feel sick and then my vision slowly kinda blackouts. Had to sit down for awhile. It scared me coz
- I do not wanna puke. I hate puking.
- I'm afraid I might faint.

retail therapy begins
Hari Raya holiday today. To all muslims, Selamat Hari Raya.Since I've stopped working, it's time to start shopping for clothes. I haven't bought anything since June. Hmmm...to which I bought an OP skirt on Friday.
The new skirts at OP are all short. But the good thing is that there are shorts underneath so you need not worry about accidentally showing anything. The skirts are all pretty but I'm afraid to buy most since I know Mum will make a fuss. The one I bought was short but not too short.
Sis said I should just buy what I want. But I really don't feel good if Mum ain't going to be happy.
I simply have no mood to blog. Feeling kinda sick.

snake-y issues
Happy Deepavali! And...Happy Birthday, CJ! Hope you are having a fun one despite all the mugging for your exams.Tomorrow will be my last day of work. Free from the boring net-less computer, the chance of bumping into Mr Snake-y in the toilet and letting my eyes see some gruesome murder *aka a squashed toad*.
Not that I did bump into a snake in the toilet anyway. But I did see one outside the office, near the drain. It was black...and it was a cobra. Iqbal saw it first since he was going out. And the rest of us just kaypoh-ed. To which the cobra decided to make a quick escape via the drain pipe outlet. Smart move. Else he'll probably end up...dead.
Second time I've seen a snake other than in the zoo. The first being a rather small one trying to cross the road just outside PS and ended up flapping in the wind after some car rolled over it.
But yea...sensei, I guess this would come close to "exciting wildlife" since I replied that there weren't any monkeys in Botanic Gardens. Haha...
Mum told me that there are pythons around too. She said the last time they caught one around my office area too. But by the time she went to kaypoh, the poor snake was already chopped up into pieces, ready to be brought home to be cooked. And yes, the chinese do eat every darn thing. *A general statement. I'm definitely not included since I'm darn picky when it comes to food.* Snake soup is supposed to be full of nutrients or something.

check out her blog
One of the reasons why I love to read Per's blog. I expected an entry of such to pop up on her blog. :) Well, either her blog or Pwen's.Checked out the specifications of the laptop. NParks is under the Friends of IBM Programme and currently there's a sale for 2 particular models of laptops. Mum asked me if I'm interested in it.
Mum cooked fish bread for dinner! *claps hands* It's just fish paste spread on bread and then deep-fried but it's yummy.
Had a nice chat with an ex-colleague. When I asked him how were the rest of colleagues doing, he told me that one colleague was sent to India for 3 weeks. And she's upset about it.
I know that this isn't news one would jump for joy for *most wouldn't anyway*. But think about it, if everyone refuses to go then who will? So I guess one should feel honoured that she is going on this business trip coz the company values her skills?
On the other hand, at this moment, India isn't exactly one of the safest countries. In fact, none are. Political unrest and stuff. War on terrorism. Who knows when your country is the next target? It's easy to talk about peace but hard to exercise it.
Who knows if some drunkard on the street is racist and decides to attack you? Especially when you're in the land where people of your race is the minority. Scary.
Say I'm paranoid but it isn't uncommon these days.
Anyway, I'll wish her all the best. Have a safe journey there and back. And hopefully the 3 weeks pass by quickly.

votes
Wanted to do a long update but remember? I have short term memory so pretty much forgotten about a lot of stuff.Anyway, Tuesday, met up with sensei for dinner. Long time since I've seen him or actually talked to him. So it was good. Long John's dinner. :)
Everyone seems to say the same thing when they see me. "Ehz? I thought you're working?" Coz I'm decked in casual gear. I think they got used to seeing me wear formal when I was on attachment that's why. Yea...I'm working in Botanic Gardens so what do you think? I literally pah bung in my cubicle so what do you think? My office is like in the middle of the forest *well, not really* so what do you think? If I had to dress formal, I would have long melted away.
Singapore Idol. Leandra's out. I would have much preferred that Daphne be voted out. It's getting scary. Olinda doesn't seem to get enough votes. She was in danger of being voted out. Manz...people should vote more for her *including Sis*. Seriously, if she gets voted out, I'm going to boycott Singapore Idol.
And Sis FORCED me to vote TWICE for Sylvester. NOT FAIR! She's so going to pay that $1 for the 2 votes manz.

tv is cool
Hey ho! This blog has been rather stagnant. Haven't got much time. Since after work, have my dinner and then it's tv time.Currently into the 9pm serial on Channel 8. Yep, you guessed it. Coz there's Toro in it. It focuses on swimming and 2 swim teams. Cool...all the swimming makes me feel like going swimming. But nahz...I don't think I will. Though I would still like to actually learn how to tread-water *is that the right spelling?* and how to do that flip thingy when you swim laps. Haha...I can't even swim half of a lap. Used to swim when I was young, got 2 or 3 beginners and intermediate certificates but never further. I'm still stuck at intermediate level since I can't even tread-water. Bleargh.
Anyway, it feels good to be into watching some tv programme. Been a long time since I watched that much tv. Now it's just this programme everyday, CSI on Tuesday and CSI:Miami on Wednesday.
Talking about CSI. It's getting more gross with each episode. This week's episode was good. Maybe they should make everyone watch it so people wouldn't try taking drugs. Coz this couple took drugs. And when the girl saw the guy talking to this other cheerleader girl, she got jealous. And since she was high on drugs, she didn't even know what she did. Which was to actually claw the cheerleader girl, rip her chest...and here comes the gross part...eat her. The guy ate her too. When she finally got arrested, she described the feeling as she felt like it was as if someone was doing it. Her body was standing there but she could see herself clawing the other girl. Like this whole out of your body experience. So now you know what drugs do to you. Gross stuff.
Not really in the mood to give a full update. Feeling quite tired. Tomorrow still have to go to school for JCG subcomm meeting.
PS: My computer is dying...there's no sound now. Please...just let it be the computer going bonkers and not the soundcard that's spoilt.
