my best friend and my masuda

Spent today with my best friend. To celebrate her birthday which is on this coming Monday.

Had lunch at Coffee Club. After which, we walked around Taka and Heeren and finally resting at Cineleisure.

I suddenly ran up to the railing to watch whatever was on the big screen coz I heard Hyde's "Cape Of Storms" which meant one thing. Kagen no Tsuki advertisement. Messaged Sis about it and later she replied to say that they will be showing it in the cinemas according to the girl in Mise S*clusive. YES! It's a nice movie and Chiaki looks good in it. Some of you should have seen the pic I put up as my msn pic quite a short while. The Chiaki one. It's her in that movie!

While I was concentrating on the advertisement, one Star Wars storm trooper was standing next to me...Xianglin told me later. Luckily it didn't touch me or I might have gotten a shock.

Met Per and her friends when we were leaving Cineleisure. She was so excited. Asking me whether I bought NewS's "Touch" album. Haven't. Need to prepare the money coz it costs about $50. *wails* Japanese imports...are...expensive. But Masuda looks good~~~ ^_^ Oh oh...I saw the Masuda uchiwa in Mise S*clusive. Wahahahahaha...

Sis bought me a laminated Arashi A4 poster and a photo of V6's Junichi Okada. Lalala~~~

back off

What is wrong with these people? Particularly the male species. I really don't get it how they can get so desperate, try their luck asking girls to be friends when the main thing on their mind is to want something more than a platonic friendship.

Like c'mon, you don't know me and I don't know you. So back off.

a trip through the black hole

I went through the "black hole" (my storeroom) to find the 海豚湾恋人 vcd set. Spent a great deal of time in there, perspiring like mad although the fan was on. And I didn't find it!!! I found a Japanese drama that Sis and I were interested after watching the first downloaded episode, a Carebears cartoon, Princess Diaries 2 vcd and Scooby Doo 2 vcd though. But that's not the point. Where's the vcd I want to watch?!

Added more stuff to my Japanese PV collection. Shared with Ling some Berryz Koubou stuff. And there's the new Morning Musume PV. Oh! And NewS "Cherish" PV. In love with that song. When is their cd coming out?

*in Japanese stuff haven mode*

After doing that one day usher job, I think this isn't too bad. Anybody got lobang must ask me ok?

real works

Finally decided to get started with my portfolio and photo album. I installed the script for my portfolio some time ago but didn't bother figuring the codes out.

Looking at it now, getting a headache. Too many codes. Want to alter a huge portion, not sure where to start. I wonder if I should do things manually instead?

The banner's done though.

ushering the ladies

So glad the job's over and I got $70 for it. After one night of thick make-up and hard like rocks hair. Although we reached early as stated, our job really started at 7pm and ended at around 10pm.

Everyone had their hair bunned up with lots of hair spray and mousse to keep it in place. I disliked it but had no choice. The last time my hair was done up till it was so hard was back in kindergarten. And once I told my nanny I didn't like it, she stopped putting gel in my hair.

Luckily I was the "chinese" girl. Those "indian and malay" girls had much worse make-up. It was already bad the first time they did for us the make-up. Horribly red lips. You know how they say to leave a painting alone after it has been done? Right. A few of us got called back to add on the make-up which turned out to be disastrous. Dawn had turqoise blue and gold glitter eyeshadow with her eyes lined to end off with a tail.

A few of us ran off to hide in the toilet so that we won't get "caught".

The job wasn't so bad. We were stationed all along the way from Swisshotel to the Padang. It was just to guide all the Japanese guests. Correction. Japanese ladies. It's a business incentive tour for this company which Daphne found out to be a lingerie company. Some Japanese ladies took photos with us. I on the otherhand was said to be kawaii by a few ladies. I was thinking "Cute? Yea right. *rolls eyes*" But of course, I had to just smile.

The hard part was trying to reply some of these ladies. My Japanese isn't that great. More often than not, I can understand more or less what they are trying to ask but I find it hard to answer. Although I took really basic Japanese in year 1, due to no practice for the last 1-2 years, I'm not quite sure whether to answer a question this way or that. Most of them wanted to know where the toilet was or where and what time the supermarket closed. See. I can understand what they are asking.

And the highlight was watching the skydivers and fireworks. We were all standing outside the hotel, taking our break while the Japanese ladies were entertained at the Padang. It was amazing how the skydivers jumped out of the helicoptor near the hotel but managed to land at the Padang which was a distance away. Then there were the fireworks. So pretty. I hope I'll get to see fireworks again when I go to Japan for Osaka's natsu matsuri.

No photos yet. Shall post something when I get them from Daphne.

my fill of curry rice

Just saw it on news. A new pope has been selected. White smoke seen with the bells tolling. People all excited and cheering. I think in a way it is rather exciting for catholics all over the world. To know someone new will be leading you closer to God.

I ended my day with my fill of Japanese curry rice. :)

Afternoon, Sis and I met Per to go to ICA to get our passport photos changed. Haha...yea, twice I went to Malaysia, the checkpoint fella told me to get it changed. Finally done.

Accompanied Per to NAFA (Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts), she had some questions. After which, went down to Amara to meet Joyce. Decided to split ways. Sis and Joyce went to ktv, Per and I went down to City Hall to wait for Pwen to arrive.

Pwen arrived. Went to Curry Favour for dinner. Ah! I just remembered I forgot to use the voucher...didn't bring it out anyway. Crapz. Anyway, it's my second time there. The curry rice is goooooooood. Good selection as well.

Tomorrow's the one-day usher job. Went for the ethnic costume fitting yesterday. Sis will be wearing a sari. I'll be wearing a cheongsam. Not the full length skirt. The one that ends of at the knee.

star wars m&ms

Kinda recharged after a long sleep.

Friday, Per came over to apparently burn some clips. Anyway, she stayed over since it was rather late after watching a few taped shows.

Haha...which ended up with Sis and I showing her all the downloaded clips. Getting crazy (me only I guess) over Star Wars M&M's. Psst...I bought 8 packets of M&M's earlier on (4 packets for me/Sis, 3 packets for Desmond and a packet for Per). And best of all, not sleeping.

Actually I'm not a super duper fan of Star Wars. Just like a few characters. Haha...anyway, I changed my wallpaper coz it's so cute. You should do too! Unfortunately, they only have 3 different wallpapers for download.

Since Sis and I were going to help out with Down Syndrome Association's flag day on Saturday morning, we went to Mac's for breakfast. After which, Per went home and the 2 of us went to meet our centre manager.

It started out to be a little chaotic since the centre manager arrived late so we could only set up the table and all late. But slowly got the hang of it. The only difficult part was handling students who weren't serious about the whole thing. Namely, Punggol Secondary. We were briefed to check the tins that they were at least half to three-quarters full. Most of the students from the school came back with hardly filled tins. Now, we have to tell them to try and fill their tins, carry on until they have the tins filled. If they insist on returning it, we have to put some remarks against their name which might mean that the student doesn't get his/her CIP points.

So of course, they try to bargain with us giving excuses that they are competing with better schools like Chung Cheng and TKGS. Or saying that they are really tired coz the day before they had SYF practice. Which all sounded like bullshit to me. It doesn't matter what school you come from coz if you try, even if your tin is not full, it won't sound like it only has 4-5 coins in it.

Oh...and we met this mad woman. Initially she was walking up and down like she was practising steps. Since one of the volunteers said there was some dance thing going on in TM, I thought she was taking part in a dance competition and was just practising her dance steps. Oh no...next moment she started picking litter. Every little scrap of something. Going to the bushes to pick leaves. And worst of all, cat poop. She used a plastic bag to throw everything in. And then walked over to our table. Started packing all the stationery on the table. We tried telling her not to but she just said "Never mind, I pack for you." No one wanted to anger her for fear she will dump the contents of the plastic bag she was carrying around.

Surprising thing was when a friend saw her and asked what she was doing here, she managed to answer normally.

She walked into TM for quite some time much to our relief. One of the volunteers said she might have a cleanliness disorder on top of her madness which only shows when she's stressed.

Next moment she walked out, she came up to our table, took out not one but 2 $50 notes to donate. We thought it was the end of it. Nope. She started her whole picking of litter thing again. Sis said maybe her madness is not that bad afterall since she picks up litter and keeps TM area clean. Haha... The volunteers got smarter after she packed our table. They held on to important papers in case she threw them away while packing the table again.

After our shift, went home to bathe and then go to Don's house for class pot-luck. Brought snacks and a bottle of 7-Up. Didn't have time to prepare anything. At first, I was still ok. Ate a little and watched them play games/mahjong. Then, started to get very tired. Cannot think straight/dozing off point. Didn't stay for dinner. Had to go home to sleep. Made the right choice since when going back, I had to think really really hard which side's bus-stop I had to catch the bus to go home. Don't worry, I took the right bus home.

Arrived home just in time for dinner. After dinner, washed up and went straight to sleep. Slept till this afternoon.

Lastly, I think people often misunderstand me when I get angry over something. It doesn't help that people know I'm more well-to-do. But that doesn't mean I'm a rich bitch ok. I CAN understand that people have to work hard to get money for something. More often than not, I get angry when people aren't being logical and waste a lot of time talking but end up with no action. So I get angry not coz you can't go coz you have no money but more like why didn't you say in the first place, wait until halfway through planning then you drop a bomb. Worst of all act like you're all for it then later drop a bomb and back out. DO NOT misunderstand what I'm typing here and think I'm trying to target somebody. I'm NOT. I'm talking in general whether past, present or future.

Although being straightforward/truthful can be a problem in most cases *end up people get unhappy* but it does help solve a lot of problems in the end. Talking things out, stating what you like or dislike can clear a lot of misunderstandings. Well, that's what I think. You might agree or disagree here.

got the job

Heading for school. To finish off the damn FYP. Ah...I should be downstairs to catch the bus by now. Will be a little late then.

Yes! I got the one-day job! $70 to my account. It's an usher job for a Japanese *coincidence, I didn't purposely pick that job. I'm into Japanese stuff but not everything ok.* company. It's a business incentive trip for their staff. There are 2 shifts. Sis and I picked the longer one to get more money lahz. But with that, have to wear ethnic costumes.

So...went for the taking of measurements yesterday. However, we didn't know that we still had to wait for approval. We thought that when we picked our shift and they replied, it was confirmed we got the job.

After that, went down to Police Academy to pack the tins for Saturday's Down Syndrome Association flag day. Yep, Sis and I volunteered to be centre supervisors. That means we record and give out tins to the school kids who are selling flags.

Alrightey, I should be going now...

April 13, 2005 @ 3.25pm

kagen no tsuki

Still trying to find the picture of Kuriyama Chiaki in 下弦の月. The one where she lies on the floor playing with the water.

Watched "The Pacifier" with Sis yesterday. Haha...Sis said we might as well watch a movie every week. Well, since Cineleisure isn't going to raise the price of tickets like GV and it isn't school holidays for the other kids so the place isn't crowded.

After the movie, we had dinner with uncle Inada and uncle Casey. Found out when is Tenjin Matsuri (Osaka's natsu matsuri). It's 24-25 July this year. Woohoo! That means that if we go to Japan and come back, we still might be on time for Singapore's natsu matsuri at the Japanese school.

Yep, our family's plan is to go to China in May at the request of my grandparents. It's been a wish of my grandpa since a few years back to take us to China. After which, we'll be going to Japan at the time of Osaka's natsu matsuri.

Next time, I really want to go to Japan when it's さくら満開.

happy birthday boss

For 19 years, it always read "Happy Birthday Elisia". This year, my first birthday cake read...

And then it was back to the regular with the second cake.

Thanks to Chee Wee who left a birthday message on msn minutes after midnight. I∑, I am really touched. Followed by the sms-es from Xianglin, Pwen, Cas, Xiuwei and Weiqi. Then I come online and Per tells me I have 20 minutes more of being 20 and then I'll be 20 years and one day old. Haha. Another birthday wish from Nathalie by msn.

Spent my special day with my family. Had lunch at Four Seasons hotel. After which we went to Borders and then Paragon. Went to the Asian Civilisations musuem to check out the Peranakan kebaya exhibition. Crossed over to Fullerton hotel to chill a little. Had my birthday cake there as well. Then headed for home to catch the NKF show on tv.

I thank God for this day. Few minutes into my birthday, today, I looked at myself in the mirror. Gave a little pat on my head and told myself that with this one year added to my age, I have to be more understanding towards others. Then I think to myself, there's really no difference being 19 or 20. Really no big deal.

April 10, 2005 @ 12.25am

hatachi

Heh...Happy belated birthday to YamaP from NeWs/Johnny's Junior. Happy birthday to Mandy Moore and Tsuyoshi Domoto from Kinki Kids. Yes, I just had to do that. Haha...Per will share my joy in this then.

Finally, happy birthday to myself. O tanjoubi omedetou!

Thanks to my bestest friend, Xianglin for sharing dinner with me on Friday. Catching up on things we have missed. And the present...another Hidamari no Tami which I have named "Mr Hana". Yes, I just can't get enough of those pals. They do bring a little joy in my life seeing those happy smiles painted on their faces.

Thanks to 7ners for sharing a wonderful dinner with me. All the planning and stuff. And the birthday cake. And the presents...Flip Flap and a charm bracelet. Hmmm...no name for the plant though.

Thanks to Nad and Per for spending the whole of Friday night and Saturday in my house. Watching "Kagen no Tsuki" and "Moon Child" together.

Thanks to my family and Desmond who have always been by my side, sharing my joy and tears. My mummy who has never stopped providing for me, making me feel like I'm a special person and not just another soul on this Earth.

Oh...not forgetting all my other friends. Even if you guys can't remember me, I still remember you. I wish you guys happiness. That had something to do when I stared at the candles on the cake before I blew them out. :)

Well I guess more will come later once I get the photos transferred to my computer.

April 09, 2005 @ 6.09am

hmmm

Nyah nyah...I'm still up at this hour. Just finished watching "Kagen no Tsuki" with Sis, Nad and Per. Yep...Nad and Per are staying over. Nad's asleep now...

Can I ask a (2) question(s)? Am I very fierce? Just thinking about something.

poster girl

[edited at 2.44pm]
Haven't done this for some time. Talking about the edit lahz. Results are out. As usual, the average Bs and B+s. But I'm overjoyed. It's finally over. 3 years - the sleepless nights, the worrying, the tears, putting up with unreasonable people. You really don't know how it feels...

PS: Sorry Mr D, I didn't get an A for ENMM. But I'm contented with the B.
[edited]

Haha...more of Xiuwei aka poster girl. Check out her work. Ok, I know she's going to argue that it was group work. Fine. Group work.

This is the NDP website 2005.

Look under "behind the scenes" on more information about the team from TP.

Haha...she's going to beat me up for this. *thinks* Then again, she can't. Wahahahahahahaha...

April 07, 2005 @ 1.37am

the cousin thing

Always thought cousin-once-removed means your dad or mum's cousin's child. Ok...seems I got it all wrong. In an attempt to answer Ling's question on the tagboard, I did a quick search online. That's coz Dad is sleeping already so I can't ask Mr-know-it-all.

You really need to check this out.

Eureka! Which means Lee-Ann is my second cousin. Haha...how clever of me.

Have been busy with tcgs, doing blends etc. Thanks Nad! For the tip on blending images. I really owe you one for answering my endless questions. You can really be my second sensei. *beams*

I'm still quite undecided on whether to do a new layout. Something for spring. By now, the sakura in Japan have all fully bloomed. Since NHK news stated that the flowers are supposed to open around last few days of March. I saw the images of it. My gawd...so pretty. Shall make it a point to go to Japan during さくら満開, it's really a once in your lifetime thing.

Strayed from the topic. I'm undecided coz I just put this layout up not too long ago.

Can't seem to totally shake FYP off. We are supposed to upload the project into the school server. Meet Mr Lee Leong. Do the uploading. FYP officially ends. Oh no...apparently, Mr Lee has a totally different plan from us. We are just going to meet to show him our work *which sucks big time* and he's going to give a few instructions regarding the server and that's it. He said we probably have to come back another day to do the uploading. WHAT?!

Xiuwei is officially, poster girl *ok, in my terms*. Haha...after she appeared on news for 5 seconds regarding the NDP website.

April 04, 2005 @ 2.14am

little doll

Raynor: 换眼镜。换眼镜。换眼镜。换眼镜。*continues chant*
Zhihao: 你换眼镜啦。
Me: *roars* 换了啦!
Sis: You look funny. *laughs out REALLY loud*
Me: What the hell. -_-|||

And now, the monster is annoyed...

Remember I was talking about my cute cousin-once-removed? Here she is. Her name is Lee-Ann *not sure if there is a hyphen in her name*. She's 3+ years old and is half dutch, half chinese. She is my dad's cousin's daughter *in case you're not sure what is cousin-once-removed*.

Doesn't she look like a little doll?

Another one...sorry for the bad lighting. Not my fault...

She certainly reminds me of Ayu in her "Surreal" mtv.

April 01, 2005 @ 4.03am

be a fool today

Haven't properly updated for some time. Been busy settling with other stuff. Plus the fact that I now share computer time at night with Sis as her internet is down. I rather detest it but I have no choice since she keeps wanting to rake up the past when we quarrel about it.

Besides, diaryland hasn't been too cooperative as well. Ever since their server broke down for some reason.

I really should transfer the photos from my digicam and post them up here.

Alrighty, I really should be sleeping now. By the way, Happy April Fool's!
